Southgate Volleyball suffered another devastating loss to Edsel Ford, bringing their record to 0-3.
The freshman lost in 3 straight sets, but showed growth from the previous games. JV split the first two sets, making the third one a tiebreaker. JV lost, but the tiebreaker was an extremely well-played, tough rally. Varsity once again went to four sets, winning the third one, while losing the rest. The Titans pushed in the fourth set, ending the set with a distressing 30-32 loss. This game also had more complications with the refereeing team. An abundance of incorrect calls were made, including the Edsel Ford varsity coach receiving warnings for trying to argue with the line judge’s calls.
Lydia Duran, class of 2026, and Bristol Davenport, class of 2029, were given the title “player of the match.” Duran totaled 4 aces, 4 kills, and 10 digs. Davenport, leading by a landslide, totaled 22 points, 22 kills, and 13 digs.
