All across the league, volleyball teams have been preparing for this week. District weeks are the beginning of the end, and when the teams need to pull together the most. For our district, Wyandotte hosted this week. Wyandotte played as well, and our Lady Titans —River Rouge, Taylor, Wyandotte, Allen Park, and Lincoln Park — were all present.
On Monday, for round one, our Southgate Volleyball team faced off against River Rouge. An obvious skill difference was prevalent for spectators, and our Titans beat River Rouge in a clean sweep of 3 sets. Within those sets, #10 Bristol Davenport was a powerhouse with her serves and kills, and #2 Lydia Duran’s passing was the calm within the chaos. Our girls won by a considerable number of points, making it out of round one.
