Our Southgate volleyball teams faced challenging games on Thursday, September 11, as the freshman, JV, and varsity teams each fell to the Wyandotte Bears.
The freshman team showed promising growth for improvement that will soon be seen throughout the years, but fell in three straight sets. The JV team showed strong defense and long rallies but fell short as well in three sets. Our varsity team battled four long, extremely competitive sets, winning the second set and losing the other three. The competitive rallies were heavily reliant upon the players, Bristol Davenport, who led the team with 20 kills and 17 digs, and Reese Randall, who had 17 assists and 3 aces.
Despite the setbacks, all teams continue to show growth and resilience early on in the season. The program looks to bounce back on Tuesday, September 12, with an away game against Carlson, and Thursday, the 18th, the program’s parent night and a home game against Edsel Ford.
