Our football team suffered a shocking upset after losing to the Wyandotte Bears in overtime. While we were expected to win and were in the lead until the third quarter, Wyandotte scored a touchdown and a field goal to tie the game. The score stayed 7-7 throughout the fourth quarter and into overtime.
The Bears had the first four downs in overtime, completing a touchdown and another field goal. The score was 7-21, and the Titans could feel the pressure. The Titans took their four down attempts, scoring a touchdown on the third down. After the quarterback, Cooper Randall, was sacked on the second down, he missed his throw, creating chaos within the student section. After the missed throw, Randall could feel the support radiating off the student section, throwing a dime to Isiah Davidson, who scored a touchdown. To get in the lead instead of just tying with the Bears again, the Titans decided to go for a safety, which is two points, instead of a field goal, which is one point. While Kenneth Pardo, number 71, was blocking Wyandotte’s defensive line, Randall tried to make a run for it into the endzone. Upsettingly, Randall fell just a couple of yards short, ending the game with a devastating loss of 20-21. The following photo, of the gut-wrenching last play, was posted online.
